Ruth to Carl first audio tape - Februrary 1968

This is the first audio tape that Ruth sent from Russell to Carl in Vietnam, sent in early February 1968. The audio includes a brief greeting from my Grandpa Langholz to Dad, in addition to short cameos from Cathy, Doug, and Tom. The reel-to-reel tape was pretty brittle, so I lost the first and last parts of the recording…

Ruth: I did write a letter to you earlier in the day in which I said the tape recorder had arrived, and so I'll try to get the letter and this tape in the mail at the same time. I hope the kids get home from school and that we can get the other half of the tape recorded after they come. home So I don't know how that'll work. See, here's Dougie.
